EnovativeTV Covers the Miss Africa USA Pageant 2013

EnovativeTV sponsors the Miss Africa USA 2013 Pageant to bring local content to the Diaspora on their ETV Network
New York, USA – July 2, 2013 – EnovativeTV Inc. (ETV), media sponsor of the 8th edition of the Miss Africa USA Pageant covered the event on June 29, 2013, and witnessed the crowning of the new queen for 2013.

Miss Nigeria’s Kathy Onwu outshined twenty other contestants representing various countries from across Africa, to receive the crown and title of being name Miss Africa USA 2013.

EnovativeTV also awarded the Miss Africa USA Audience Choice Award, based on voting by EnovativeTV subscribers and Facebook fans. The promotion closed at 12 noon on the day of the pageant and when the votes were tabulated, Miss Sierra Leone, Jeneba Wanjah, was declared the ETV Audience Choice winner. The prize included an optical crystal plaque, an EnovativeTV “African box“ to watch live African television, a six month free subscription to EnovativeTV services and a $100 gift certificate to any Marriott hotel, restaurant, spa or golf course worldwide.

The pageant started around 7:30pm with a red carpet reception, followed by with an opening introduction from Ghana’s first female king – King Peggy. The bevy of beauties then graced the stage for the first time, presenting to the audience the nations they were representing.

From the get-go some of the top favorites were Miss Nigeria, Miss Ghana, Miss Sierra Leone and Miss Kenya as they had a large crowd support. Other segments of the night included the traditional girl segment, the African Glamour Fashion Parade, the Contemporary Evening Gown Parade and the Top Ten Talent. The talent pieces ranged from traditional African dances, instrumentals, poems, and singing and for some a mixture of several art forms. Miss Sierra Leone stood out in her speech and dance piece to Saraphina’s ‘Freedom is Coming Tomorrow’ soundtrack. It was clear after the talent segment, which contestants would make it to through to the top five and win other awards.

EnovativeTV captured content of the event through photographs and will broadcast the footage on its own ETV Network, so that those in the African Diaspora who were not present at the event can enjoy the night’s proceedings. The photographs will also be posted on EnovativeTV’s timeline on Facebook.
