Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) seals partnership with EnovativeTV, through official launches in the United States
New York, USA – August 28, 2013 – Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) the premier television channel of the Ivory Coast has officially launched on EnovativeTV (ETV). The Launch took place in Washington D.C. and in New York, under the topic The Role of Media in the Reconstruction of the Ivory Coast as Exemplified by RTI. The first part of the launch was held at the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire in Washington D.C. on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The afternoon’s proceedings was host to many special guests, RTI representatives and other members of the public, and started at 4pm.
Special Guests included Cote d’Ivoire Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Daouda Diabate, International Organization of la Francophonie, Permanent Observer to the United Nations H.E. Mr. Filipe Savadogo, Minister of Education and Scientific Research in Cote d’Ivoire, H.E. Kandia Camara, and Director of the Economic Bureau of the Ivory Coast in the United States Inza Camara. A presentation was given by the Director of RTI1 and RTI2 channels Toure Sanga, providing detailed information on RTI’s role in the reconstruction process. Chief Operating Officer at EnovativeTV, Jon Gilbert, gave a presentation on how the EnovativeTV platform enables RTI to reach a global audience and engage directly with the African diaspora. The launch ended on an engaging note with guests participating in a question and answer session.
Part two of the launch took place on Monday, August 26, 2013, at the Permanent Mission of the African Union to the United Nations, New York. Hosted by Ms. Ijeoma Genevieve Mbamalu, this leg of the launch took the format of a panel discussion moderated by Ms. Mariama Keita. Panelists and presenters included African Union Permanent Observer to the United Nations H.E. Antonio Téte, Permanent Representative H.E. Youssoufou Bamba, Director of RTI1 and RTI2 channels Toure Sanga and Journalist/News Anchor Ali Diarrassouba. Other dignitaries, the private sector, heads of non-profit groups and the media were in attendance at both launches. The title sponsor for both events was Royal Air Maroc.
Serge Vallet, Executive Director of EnovativeTV said, “Both parts of the launches went very well and I am happy that the partnership with RTI is now officially established.” He added that “We met our objectives of hosting the launch which was to give the Ivorian diaspora the opportunity to come together, engage in dialogue and share ideas about developing new opportunities for the Ivory Coast and making those opportunities available for the diaspora.”
The events’ footage will be made available on the EnovativeTV Network and YouTube Channel to give those who were unable to attend, the opportunity to enjoy the festivities.
